SheFit Sports Bra

Ok I have been excited to share this post for a while now.

This might be my most favorite product I have EVER bought…

EVER!!

So anyways let me give some background.

I love watching TV, I love reality TV… and one of my favorite shows to watch is Shark Tank.

I love seeing the ideas some people come up with, whether they are fails or major wins.  It’s fun seeing the Sharks respond to all the different products or ideas and try to guess if they are going to make an offer or not.

I have tried several products I have seen on Shark Tank, and let me tell you, not all of them have been amazing.  I may tell you about those some time J.

However this product I’m reviewing today… you are going to want to immediately go to their website and order at least 7 of these!

What am I talking about today?

The SheFit Sports bra.

Check out this YouTube video that explains how the SheFit Sports Bra works.

Ok ladies, how many of you can say you have the perfect sports bra?

I know I couldn’t say that until recently.  I would try several different kinds and either they were super uncomfortable or not supportive at all.  They are also not flattering in the least.  I know some women who wear 2-3 layered sports bras to try and get the support they need.

It’s frustrating and makes working out so hard to do.

So once I saw the episode where they talked about this revolutionary bra that is adjustable in the band, and shoulder straps, and it’s easy to put on and take off.  I knew I would want to try it immediately.

As with so many popular Shark Tank products they sold out almost instantly; and because I’ve been working on fitness and nutrition I didn’t want to order one and then by the time they got inventory and shipping under control receive a product that no longer fits.  So I decided to wait until they had their inventory under control to make my order.

The cool thing about this bra, like I mentioned earlier is that the band and shoulders are adjustable so it will fit a wide range of sizes, which is just incredible!  While I was waiting for the right time to order I would watch YouTube reviews of the bra to make sure it was something I’d want to try.

Check out a couple of my favorite reviews here:

Some benefits I didn’t originally think of is several people talked about how this is a great bra for pregnant and post partum moms because of how adjustable and comfortable it is.  And because the straps are adjustable it’s really easy and convenient for nursing mommas too!

I finally was able to order my SheFit bra about a month ago and the first time I wore it I felt like a whole new person.

I ordered a size down from what it told me to order, I was just a few inches from the size down and so I decided I’d rather have that one then to have one that will be too big soon.  These bras aren’t cheap, which is the main reason I haven’t ordered more yet.  I’m thinking I need to get at least one more though because having only one sports bra is difficult when you are trying to work out every day.

I’m so glad I did order the size down because it fits perfectly and I know it will fit me perfectly for a while!  At first it did feel a little tight, the bra comes with padding.  Not really sure why a sports bra needs padding, but as soon as I realized that I took out the pads (they are easily removed and put back in).  Once that padding was gone the bra fit perfectly!

As you all probably know I’m training to run a 5k in 2 weeks so the first workout I did in the SheFit sports bra was jogging.

After the first 5 minutes of jogging all of a sudden I realized how amazing I felt.  I don’t want to sound superfluous but seriously I think this bra makes me run faster/longer and probably even jump higher ha-ha.  Ok honestly probably not jump higher… I have no hops ha-ha.  However it seriously makes me feel lighter and more capable of going harder and longer in the gym.

My first thought after realizing how amazing this bra is for running was… is this what guys feel like when they run?

Seriously the support was so amazing!!

I also wore this bra during my long days at the parks when I was in Orlando a couple of weeks ago and I noticed a HUGE difference in energy.  The days I wore my SheFit bra to the parks my back didn’t hurt hardly at all, and that was after more than 20,000 steps… the days I didn’t wear my SheFit bra I’d end the day feeling really worn out and my back was always hurting… and those were on my shorter days at the park… after only around 10,000 steps.

I really can’t say enough good things about this bra; if you are even semi active or want to get active this is the perfect bra for you!  They even have a SheFit lounge bra, I didn’t order one of those because I didn’t really see the purpose but it’s probably amazing as well!

I can’t wait to order more!!

What are your thoughts? Have you heard of the SheFit sports bra? Have you tried it? Do you plan on trying it now?

Know Better Foods

Ok so I debated putting this review up on a Friday, because Friday’s are reserved for favorite foods…

This is not a favorite food…

But in trying to keep it as real as possible for you I feel like I need to share my reviews, even when they aren’t totally awesome.

This is one of those reviews.

Before we get too far into this review please remember that all my reviews will be 100% honest and 100% my opinion… there may be things I didn’t like that you may love, or vice versa.  I’m just sharing my thoughts on all the products I’ve tried.

I haven’t gotten any of these products for free, but if I ever do I will let you know and I’ll still give an honest and thorough review.

I’m always on the search to find delicious foods that are healthy, or at least won’t break my protein/carb limits.

I started seeing ads on my Facebook for a company called Know Better Foods who has all kinds of snacks that are Keto friendly.

While I don’t follow a Keto diet, I don’t mind trying out things that are Keto friendly because they will be low carb and high protein.

The ads I was seeing was introducing their new chocolate chip waffles.  Now I have been trying for a few months to make a delicious high protein waffle or pancake at home… I’ve had no success (yet)!

I noticed I could order a breakfast sample pack from Know Better Foods; it comes with their waffles, doughnuts (not pictured), bread slices, and pancake mix.

As soon as the box came, which it did come in a timely fashion, right on schedule with when they said it would come, I ripped into it to taste test these waffles.

I had been watching YouTube video reviews on these babies and I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into them.

These products all have to be kept refrigerated, so they were shipped with ice packs.

My mom and I decided to have breakfast for lunch that day so we could try these waffles.  Half a waffle is one serving, but the nutrition stats are so good, you could get away with eating a whole waffle.  I also ordered their syrup, which was pretty good.

However the waffle left a lot to be desired.  I didn’t like the texture, and the more I ate the less I liked the taste.  It’s not something I plan to ever order again.

Also let’s talk about the syrup a little bit; it is touted as being only 1 net carb, which is HUGE.  And it was really good, so only have 1 net carb I was stoked.

However I’m not sure how they come to that conclusion.  I’m no carb counting master, but from the nutrition label it has 28 carbs listed and then 28g of sugar.  I don’t see any fiber or sugar alcohols that would indicate you would subtract to get net carbs.  This would mean it is actually 28 net carbs, which is way too much for my carb counting self.

I could be reading it wrong, and if I am and someone out there knows why it’s only 1 net carb please let me know because as of right now I don’t plan on using more of that syrup!

Over all I was so disappointed because I was expecting delicious rich flavors.  Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect healthy foods to taste as rich and decadent as their not healthy counterparts.  However I do expect them to still be delicious.

I haven’t tried the pancake mix yet, I should do that soon but since everything else was just not good I haven’t had much of a desire to mix up the pancakes.

The doughnuts (not pictured) were the best in the pack, and they are the only product that got finished off.  However they weren’t good enough to make up for the other foods.

I won’t be ordering from them again, and I obviously don’t suggest you go running to try them out either.

So here I am still on the search for delicious low carb, high protein waffles… Do you know of any??

Until I find a delicious low car high protein pancake/waffle I'll just be enjoying my pancakes and waffles halo top ice cream!

Lasik

I had the most amazing week in Florida last week.  I really think it has been the best idea getting an annual pass to both Universal and Disney this year.  I’m not sure I’ll have another fun and magical filled year after my passes expire.

I had this post all written up and ready to post on Saturday, but in all the craziness of not knowing if I'd make it out of Orlando in time, or if I'd have to stay through the hurricane I wasn't able to get this post up in time.  Luckily my flights went off without a hitch and I made it home safe and sound.  I'm praying for all those in Florida, and really throughout the world who have been affected by all the huge natural disasters that seem to be happening right now.

My review today isn’t really Disney related like my last few posts have been, it’s time to start getting back to reality.

However the subject of my post did make my Disney trip that much more enjoyable… as well as just life in general!

Today I’m going to be reviewing my experience with getting Lasik on my eyes.

I had always considered getting Lasik… one day.  I just never really considered when ‘one day’ would be.  Then my brother Jeff got Lasik last year and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it!

It got to the point where I was daily listing to myself all the things that would be better if I didn’t have glasses.  I don’t really know what the catalyst was to finally decide it was the right time, but I decided to call a couple of places on a whim to get an estimate and everything happened really fast after that.

I will be posting pics of my surgery, so if you get a little squeamish about that kind of stuff, maybe you should stop reading here.

The moral of the story is if you have glasses and can get Lasik you should totally do it!!

So I called around to get a couple of estimates, it’s really hard to get an estimate over the phone as from what I have been told they go by what your prescription is, and everyone’s eyes are different.  I didn’t really want to “bargain” shop for something that could potentially have the side effect of blindness, but I also didn’t want to pay too much.

I read reviews and did some research and finally decided to call Joffe Medicenter.  They were able to fit me in the same day I called and even said they could put me down for Lasik the same week!

I was shocked and got excited thinking I could get my eyes done so quickly! This was at the end of June and I was going to Florida in August and kept thinking about how nice it would be to not have to deal with glasses while there! Also with my increased workouts my glasses were getting more annoying than usual because they'd constantly slip or steam up, as I would sweat.

Joffe had a promotional pricing deal going, which is why I called; I wanted to see if I would qualify.  I didn't qualify for the promotional pricing at Joffe (I sort of doubt very many people do).

I was really impressed with how outgoing and friendly every one was on the phone and in person at Joffe.  For some reason that can be hard to find at medical providers.

They didn't pressure me when I told them I'd have to think about getting Lasik done because I needed to work out the financial details (which they do offer several financing plans) they told me it would be ok if I had to wait.

Turns out I was able to work everything out to get it done that same week and I'm so glad!

I showed up for my appointment, and they took me right back and walked me through the procedure, they had a massage chair in the waiting room so I was able to sit and relax. They also offer some medicine to relax you if you feel you need it.  To be honest I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I should be, I did take the calming medicine but I don’t think I really needed it.

Once they were ready for me, they brought me into the room had me lay down on the table, Dr. Smith is incredibly kind and knowledgeable... he has amazing bed side manners... he talked to me the whole time letting me know what he was doing and how long it would last and would even count down how much time was left.

The whole procedure was about 15 min didn't hurt at all and once we were done I could see without my glasses... granted my vision was a little fuzzy.

I donated my glasses on the way out!

By the time I got home the numbing drops they had put in my eyes had worn off and I experienced some moderate discomfort in my eyes... I was told I needed to sleep as much as possible the first few hours after surgery, I had a hard time sleeping from the discomfort so I took Tylenol and a melatonin and I ended up sleeping until 11pm!!

I woke up and ate something, watched a little TV (WITHOUT GLASSES) and then took some more Tylenol and melatonin and went back to sleep.

When I woke up the next morning I still had some mild discomfort in my eyes but hardly noticeable!

I drove myself to Joffe the next day to have a follow-up where they told me I was seeing 20/20 with both my eyes and 20/25 in each eye.  Your eyes can take several months to totally finish adjusting from surgery, so they told me my eyesight would probably continue to get better.

At my 3 week follow-up I had been noticing that I couldn’t see as well with my left eye, when I mentioned that they took a look and said that I still had a slight astigmatism in that eye, I have another follow-up in a couple months to check on that, if it hasn’t corrected itself by then they said we may have to talk about some possible modifications, but they didn’t seem to be too worried because they said it can take several months for eyes to settle into their new normal.

I have since noticed that my eyes are doing really well.  I do get some blurry vision if I’ve been over straining my eyes all day, but as long as I stay on top of the eye drops I’m supposed to use I’m just fine

I was told Joffe is a nationwide provider, so if you are considering having Lasik make sure to look them up and see if there is one close to you, I highly recommend them!

They also gave me a free t-shirt, which I mean who doesn't love free clothes ha-ha!

Good Things About Not Having Glasses:
  • Being able to see when I first wake up in the morning
  • Being able to actually see what I'm doing when I try to shave in the shower ha-ha
  • Being able to see what I’m doing when I put on makeup
  • Being able to actually wear eye makeup- My eyelashes are so long they smudge my glasses all day long mascara or no mascara
  • Being able to lay in bed or on a couch and read without my glasses digging into my face
  • Walking outside and not having my glasses fog up because of the humidity
  • Opening an Oven or dishwasher door and not having my glasses fog up
  • Being able to wear sunglasses
  • Walking outside in the rain and not having rain drops on my glasses
  • Working out and not having my glasses slip down my nose because of sweat
  • Or not having sweat drip onto my glasses
  • Swimming without having to wear contacts
  • People actually being able to see my eyes ha-ha

There are so many other things I love about not having glasses… it’s too hard to make a list!

So long story short I HIGHLY recommend getting Lasik!! Consultations are usually free so call around and get an estimate so you know what you need to save up for!
