That time I won a car....

I don't know about you but I STILL catch myself thinking the 90s were just 10 years ago... will that ever go away?

I had a "Holy crap where did the time go" moment today, one of my Facebook friends who I graduated with posted a graduation picture the other day and today it got me thinking about how it's been 10 years ago since I've graduated high school.  Today was a BIG day for me 10 years ago, no today is not the anniversary of graduating high school, that was yesterday, today marks 10 years since I won a brand new car at project graduation! Yeah you heard that right, I won a brand new car once.  I still can't believe it!! I'm so bummed to report I don't have any digital pictures of me and the car, I know my mom has some that she has printed out, but this was before picture phones and I didn't have a digital camera.  So I'm sorry to say I don't have any photo proof for you here on my blog tonight, but trust me I have a ton of witnesses who will confirm that I won that car.

What did I do with my super hot right yellow brand new dream mustang? I sold it.   Yeah sometimes I think about it and regret the decision, but overall I think I made the best choice, I drove the mustang around for the summer and had my fun, but since I was going to school out west I needed to pack up all my belongs and move across country, and there just wasn't much space in my little buttercup.  So I sold her and bought a toyota avalon and with the left over money I bought a laptop for school and then eventually used it to help fund a study abroad trip to Europe in my sophomore year, all things I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

So while it would have been fun to drive that hot mustang around, I'm happy with my memories of Europe and the fun times I had in college on the MANY road trips I took in my Avalon (Lexi Sparks Gossie 3rd).

So have you ever won anything? What would you have done with the mustang if you had been in my shoes? I had a lot of different opinions thrown at me at the time, and while I do think about what might have been if I'd kept the car, I still think I would do everything the same :)

And since I don't have photo proof of my Mustang, here are a few pics from my study abroad in Europe :)
Somewhere beautiful in Ireland

Enjoying a very early morning at stonehenge... how did it get like that? ;)

A Harry Potter nerd cannot go to London, and NOT visit platform 9 3/4... I went twice in 3 days
Oh the Eiffel Tower, and that's all I'll say about my time in Paris :)

  1. Hey, I was there! I'm a witness she did win a free car!! It was one of the coolest memories. I have to find a picture! I'll keep looking. I'm sure there's one out there.
